Established during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, our firm was founded on resilience, innovation, and a deep commitment to serving our clients with integrity and compassion. Proudly female owned and a Level 1 B-BBEE contributor, we are dedicated to empowering individuals and communities through accessible, high-quality legal services.
Based in the heart of Johannesburg, with offices conveniently located in Rosebank, we offer specialised expertise in conveyancing and property law, family law, and deceased estates. MEET Our directors
Sumaya holds both a BA and an LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand and is certified in Family Law Mediation through the South African Association of Mediators (SAAM). She began her legal career as a Criminal Law Public Defender at the Legal Aid Board before transitioning into private practice, where she served as a senior professional assistant at a law firm, gaining extensive experience in criminal law.
In 2008, she established her own legal consultancy, driven by a strong commitment to social justice and female empowerment. Through her consultancy, she has built wide ranging expertise across various areas of law.
She has served as a pro bono legal advisor and mediator for the Islamic Helpline in Lenasia, and volunteered with ProBono.Org. In 2014, she founded Cybersafekids South Africa, a digital citizenship and youth education initiative under the Islamic Helpline, promoting responsible online behavior and social accountability.
Sumaya is also involved in the Commonwealth Business Women’s Network (CBWN) and Xanopia Women’s Business Group, leading and supporting community upliftment and women’s empowerment projects across Africa.
She also held the position of Director and Principal Attorney at the Umar RA Legal Clinic in Lenasia, a free legal clinic providing access to justice for the indigent, and serves on several executive boards.
Sumaya’s years of legal experience and her strong professional network have been instrumental in strengthening her practice. Her meticulous approach and dedication to each matter have earned her a reputation as a committed and capable legal professional.
Admitted Attorney & Conveyancer
Shahnaaz is a dynamic and forward thinking admitted attorney and conveyancer of the Republic of South Africa, with over a decade of hands on legal experience.
From the outset of her career, she was fortunate to be mentored by seasoned legal professionals who equipped her with the practical skills and insights necessary to one day establish and manage her own successful law firm.
She has built a strong and diverse legal background, with extensive exposure to panel and tender work, particularly within Labour and Employment Law. Her practice spans multiple areas of law, making her a well rounded legal practitioner.
She is especially passionate about Family Law, where she combines compassion and empathy with a strong, results driven approach. Her clients value her unwavering loyalty, and her assertive representation ensures their interests are fiercely protected.
As an admitted conveyancer, Shahnaaz is the firm’s in-house specialist on all property law and conveyancing matters, guiding clients through transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
In addition, Shahnaaz has several years of experience in Commercial Law, including the drafting of complex contracts and agreements, as well as conducting commercial litigation in both the Magistrates’ and High Courts.
